Alexander Mountain Trail

Alexander Mountain Trail (270) offers a scenic overlook of Lake Koocanusa after 0.5 mile on the trail and is suitable for a short hike to the overlook or for a more rugged day hike. No restrooms or stock facilities are available.

Sunday worship 11:00am and 6:00pm. Sunday school at 9:45am. Wednesday 7:00pm.

Baree - Bear Lakes Trail

Baree - Bear Lakes Trail (489) passes the Baree Lake access trail at about 3.0 miles with a gain of 1,700 feet. The trail continues making a steady climb to the Cabinet Divide then follows the Cabinet Crest Trail 360 along the divide to the north.

Barren Peak Trail (6) is a hike with great views and access to other trails. The center 3 miles of the trail are in open parks and offer excellent views of the South Cabinet Mountains. Barren Lookout may be considered a destination from either end of the trail.

Barron Creek Campground

Barron Creek is located on the west side of 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa (KOOtenai/CANada/USA--coo/can/oosa), at an elevation of 2,500 feet, approximately 28 miles northeast of Libby and 34 miles south of Canada.

The course consists of an easy, moderate, and difficult connecting loops. Great for the beginner to the advanced. On a clear day these trails offer a spectacular view of the Cabinet Mountains. Parking capacity for 6 vehicles. Motor vehicles prohibited after December 1.

We are located in a small Nordic town in Northwest Montana. We have daily specials and homemade soups. Our specialty of the house is Broasted Chicken which we recommend . Family style dining. Everyday we have a wonderful selection of items on our salad bar.

Bighorn Trail

Bighorn Trail (42) is a prehistoric trail that follows the river through old orchards and bighorn sheep ranges. Eagles, osprey, river otters, and Harlequin ducks may be seen as well as an abundance of wildlife. This is a very popular trail and benches are located throughout the course.

Blacktail Trail (536) climbs steeply for the first 3 miles to the ridge-top, hiking then becomes easier and scenic vistas can be enjoyed. This trail is suitable for rugged day hikes and short backpacking trips.

Blue Mountain Trail (12.2) makes a great family outing for a short, moderately difficult hike. The top 0.5 mile of the trail is fairly steep but offers outstanding views of the Cabinet Mountains.

Numerous gold bricks were shipped from the Branigan Mine, which is at the trailhead for Bramlet Lake Trail (658). The entrance to the mine may be seen on the hillside across the creek. Upper Bramlet Lake may be reached by bushwhacking up 0.5 mile west of the lower lake.

Bull River Valley Scenic Drive

This drive provides a relaxing outing with a panorama of the Cabinet Mountains. Driving time should not exceed 1 hour in each direction. All roads are in good condition with paved surfaces.

Burke Lake Trail (170) leads to a small lake surrounded by timber, and provides a nice view of Northwest Peak. This is a short hike through scattered timber and small clearings. The use season is short due to snows in the upper elevations.

Cabinet Divide Trail (360) provides opportunities for rugged day hikes and short backpacking trips. There is adequate parking at the trailhead for 4 cars, but there is limited turnaround space. No stock facilities are available.

Cabinet Mountains Wilderness-USFS

The Cabinet Mountains Wilderness occupies the higher reaches of the northern Cabinet Range southwest of Libby. A narrow line of snowcapped peaks, glacial lakes, valleys cut by icy streams, and cascading waterfalls runs north to south for 40 serpentine, up-an-down miles.

Cabinet View Country Club

Cabinet View Country Club is a 9-hole course located at the foot of the Cabinet Wilderness Area. What a spectacular view! And we have wildlife of all kinds! Call 293-7332 for additional information on the course or tournaments. Canadian currency offered at a discounted rate.

The Caboose Motel is easy to find located on Highway 2 West, just 3 blocks from down town Libby.

The Caboose Restaurant & Lounge is Libby's oldest dinning and drinking establishment. Located on scenic Highway 2, it offers the traveler not only convenience, but the finest in steaks, seafoods and many other specialties. Lunch is also served from 11:00 am. - 4:00 pm. Mon-Fri.

This is a high mountain stream with high to very high resident habitat suitability. Rainbow trout (up to 9 inches) can be found in the pools and undercut bank areas. Cedar Creek averages 13 feet in width and 10 inches in depth.

Cedar Creek Trail (141) runs adjacent to Cedar Creek for its entire length. A lower portion of the trail was once used as a wagon road for early-day mining. About 0.8 mile beyond the trailhead, Scenery Mountain Trail 649 departs to the right.
