Flat Rock Ridge Trail (254) is primarily used for hunting, but also offers some good views of the St. Regis River Valley. It's good berrypicking in season and there's lots of wildlife.

Ford Hill Snowmobile Trail is a network of trails in the Mullan Pass area. Caution, there may be B.P.A. administrative traffic on Randolph Creek Road, which is closed year round.

Forks is a state fishing access site located at Fish Creek in northwest Montana. Fishing may be enjoyed by the angler. Camping is permitted with 5 sites available at this location. Toilets are available. 7 day stay limit.

Gilt Edge Creek Trail (268) goes through an old mining town on the eastern end. Much of the trail follows the creek. Going downhill from the State Line is an easier hike. But you need to check the road restrictions on Road 3822.

Heart Lake Trail (171) is an easy but long hike to the largest lake on the district. The trail follows the So. Fork of Trout Creek to the lake in a cirque basin setting below a spectacular view of the Divide. Fair fishing for Eastern Brook Trout.

Hendrickson Gulch Trail (217) is an easy hike down, moderate up. Excellent huckleberry picking in late July and early August. This a trail between two roads, no destination

Hoodoo Lake Trail (111) is a good trail for berry picking (late July, early August). Hoodoo Lake is a pretty alpine lake just under the top of the divide.

Hub-Hazel Lakes Trail (280) is a short connecting trail between Ward Creek and Eagle Peak. Several sections of steep trail make this a moderate to difficult climb. Diverse habitats, spring wildflowers and views of alpine lakes make this trail enjoyable.

Lightening Windfall Trail (620) is a hiker's hike but well worth the effort for the many views. It's a high country ridgetop trek. Remember to take drinking water with you on this trail.

Lookout Pass Ski Trails are next to and part of the snowmobile trail system. There are 9 ungroomed trails that make a total of 7.3 miles down into the basin. The Lookout Pass Alpine Skiing Area is right next to the cross-country ski trails and snowmobiling opportunities.

The Chamber will be staffed 5 days, Thursday through Monday, in conjunction with the County Museum whose focus in John Mullan and the Mullan Road, the first 'highway' west of the Rockies, built 1859 - 1862.

The Mineral County Museum, free to all, opened in 1977 in response to the nation's bicentennial. Featuring local history, including exhibits concerning the area's historic industries of mining, logging and forest service activities.

Missoula Lake Trail (108) is an alpine lake in a classic cirque basin. The Montana/Idaho State Line Divide dominates the scenery to the West. There are lots of camping sites. Rainbow trout in the lake, but hard to catch.

Moore Lake Trail (55) is a drive to alpine lake with handicapped access toilets and fishing peir as well. There's an easy half mile hike along the north side of the lake. There's fair fishing for Eastern Brooke adn Cutthroat Trout.

Ninemile Divide Trail (51) runs along or close to the ridgetop. It take you through lodgepole pine stands, beargrass and huckleberry patches. There are some good views of the Clark Fork Valley and side drainages. It's a good early summer or fall hike.

To get to these lakes you make a steep but short hike along Oregon Lakes Trail (109) to the lower lake. Good campsites at the trailhead and lake. The trail from the lower lake to the middle lake isn't as steep.

The primary use on Packer Creek Trail (266) is hunting. There's an outfitter camp about 3 miles in. It's not advisable to drink the water in the area of Tar Box Mine until rehabilitation if finished, due to tailing contamination.

Pearl Lake Trail (175) is a beautiful hike from below via Heart Lake or from above, on the State Line Trail. It's a true high country experience because it features a variety of habitats from wood riparian areas to high country cirque basins to subalpine meadows.
