There is a $25 a night usage fee. The cabin will accommodate up to four people. Access depends on weather conditions. Less than a .5 miles hike to the cabin. It has recently been refurbished under the PIT project.

Mt. Marston National Recreation Trail (361) is an ample day hike with a moderate climb to the lookout. Scenic vistas of Glacier National Park, Dickey Lake, and the Tobacco Valley will reward the hiker.

The entire length of Murphy Creek is fishable. The creek is on private land, except for the section across from the ranger station, so permission from private landowners should be obtained before fishing. The creek provides fair fishing for rainbow and eastern brook trout.

This small lake is in a heavily forested area with adjacent marshland. Interpretive signs at the picnic area describe the common loons that nest here and their habitat. Nesting loons are very sensitive, and signed buoys mark areas closed to the public.

North Dickey Lake Campground

North Dickey Lake Campground is located on the Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana. At an elevation of 3100 feet, the campground encompasses 8 acres. There are 25 campsites, and water and restrooms are provided.

North Fork Deep Creek Trail (72) climbs gradually up the steep North Fork Deep Creek valley and, after passing through the wide divide between Mt. Petery and the mountains to the north, emerges on a ridge overlooking the valley of Williams Creek drainage and the mountains beyond.

Patrick Ridge Trail (860) leads to a lookout that offers a panoramic view of the Tobacco Valley from Stryker and, on clear days, the snow-covered peaks of Glacier National Park. This is a strenuous hike with frequently changing topography.

Rainbow Lake Trail

Rainbow Lake Trail (89) provides tremendous vistas of the Wigwam drainage, Galton Range, and especially the Ten Lakes basin. The visitor will also have overviews of Rainbow Lake, Bean Lake, and several other alpine lakes.

This drainage was logged in the 1950s. The creek provides fair fishing for pan-sized cutthroat and rainbow trout. Fishing is available from Wigwam Creek upstream for 1.7 miles, but above that point Rich Creek is too small to support catchable fish.

Rock Lake is located in a natural forest environment. There is designated parking; individuals walk a very short distance to the picnic tables and tent sites. An undeveloped boat launch and lakeside sites are available. Maximum length of stay is 14 days, trailer length is 20 feet.

Sinclair Creek has fair fishing for the first 7 miles and includes cutthroat, rainbow, and eastern brook trout. This creek lies on private land except for the last .5 mile which is National Forest land, so private landowners should be contacted prior to fishing.

Sinclair Creek Trail (88) is one of the most popular and shortest routes to the Ten Lakes Scenic Area, and to access the Highline trail on the east side of the Galton Mountain Range.

South Dickey Lake Day Use Area is located on the Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana at an elevation of 3,110 feet. This day use area is located adjacent to beautiful Dickey Lake, and only a few miles from North Dickey Lake Campground.

Forest Service Road 7021 follows the creek and provides fair access with turnarounds. Foot travel is poor due to brush, windfalls and timber. Fish available include rainbow and cutthroat trout, and some whitefish. There are several dispersed camping areas available.

Stahl Creek Trail (80) leads to Stahl Mountain Lookout and is an excellent day hike. The trail from Stahl Creek road is well defined and is fairly easy, although the trail on the side of Stahl Peak is steep and rocky.

Stahl Peak Lookout offers nice views of Glacier National Park, Canada, Therriault Pass, and the Ten Lakes Scenic Area. Hawks and eagles are often observed in the area.

From Stryker, 6 miles up Road 315, are two waterfalls. A trail to the falls exists from near the bridge on Road 3734 and Sunday Creek. Approximately 3.5 miles of Sunday Creek, near Paul Creek, is through private land as is the lower .8 mile of Sunday Creek.

Sunday Falls Trail

Sunday Falls Trail (100) is an easily reached trail that leads to a series of waterfalls. It is one of the more popular hikes for local area residents.

The lower 8 miles of Swamp creek provides fair-to-good fishing for eastern brook and rainbow trout. The creek is on National Forest for 2 of the 8 fishable miles, the remainder is on private land in two large segments.

The creek provides fair fishing for cutthroat, rainbow, and eastern brook trout, and Dolly Varden. The fishing along the creek is all on private land and permission should be obtained from landowners before fishing.
