Elk Mountain Trail (107) provides a hike that takes only a few hours and is fairly easy. The trail is in good condition and leads up to Elk Mountain and the old lookout, winding through dense forests with lupine covered slopes and wide meadows.

Elk Patrol Trail (109) ends at Elk Mountain Lookout, an old structure now closed to the public. Tremendous views of the Cabinet Mountains, Whitefish Range, and the Galtons will be seen.

Beaver dams, deep holes and fast water provide fair fishing for cutthroat, rainbow, eastern brook trout, and some whitefish. Permission from private landowners should be obtained prior to fishing. There are several campsites dispersed along the creek.

This Ranger Station is located just 22 miles south of the US/Canada border at an elevation of 3,000 feet. It is encompassed within the Tobacco Valley, along with the small communities of Eureka, Fortine, Murphy Lake, and Trego.

Foundation-Camp Creek Trail circles around the head of three long valleys at the base of Mt. Wam. It crosses sharp ridges between the valleys and passes through dense forests. Each end is easily accessible and connects in the middle with a short trail leading to Mt. Wam.

Gibralter Ridge Trail (335) offers a vigorous hike into the Ten Lakes Scenic Area. A day may be spent hiking the Gibralter Ridge trail, then picking up Highline Trail 339; before dropping down to this trail you will be on the southern edge of Therriault Pass.

Parking available for Grave Creek Road Ski Trail at Birch Creek Recreation Area. This trail is groomed intermittently. Grooming by Ten Lakes Snowmobile Club.

Green Mountain Trail (88) starts on a gentle grade, then becomes more difficult upon entering the Sinclair Creek drainage. From the ridgetop and into the Wigwam drainage, climbing becomes less difficult.

Highline Trail (339) takes you through the heart of the Ten Lakes Scenic Area; it begins at a junction point with Foundation-Camp Trail 77. Mt. Wam, where an old lookout cabin stands, is located along this route.

Fishing is fair for 3.5 miles up Indian Creek along Highway 93. It is also fair from US Highway 93 downstream 2 miles to the Tobacco River. This segment of the stream is all private land except for the upper .5 mile. Permission form the landowners should be obtained prior to fishing.

Jerry's RV Park offers 10 RV sites. A golf course, 9 hole 3 par, restaurant, and a lounge are all nearby.

Krinklehorn Peak Trail (358) provides numerous opportunities for outstanding views of the Galton Range, Whitefish Range, and the Tobacco Valley.

Krinklehorn-Locke Mountain Trail (96) is a connector between the Krinklehorn Trail and the Whitefish Divide Trail. It offers views of the Williams Creek Drainage and will lead you to the historic site of Locke Lookout. Beautiful views exist along the trail.

Laughing Water Creek Ski Trail, which leads to Martin Lake, is an ideal tour for beginners and offers a good view of the Tobacco Valley and Salish Mountains. There is also a good view of the Whitefish Range.

Laughing Water Creek Trail (98) stays adjacent to the creek for the first mile, providing excellent examples of streamside flora and fauna. Gaining elevation, vistas of the Galton Range and Tobacco Valley are offered.

Laughing Water Ranch

Laughing Water Ranch, located in Fortine, Montana, offers western dude ranch vacation packages for families and couples.

Only the lower .5 mile of Lime Creek offers fair fishing for brook trout, found primarily in the beaver ponds.

Martin Lake Trail

Martin Lake Trail (418) provides easy access to a low elevation, isolated lake. Loons may be seen as well as moose, ducks, and other wildlife. This is an excellent hike for the first-time camper/hiker.
