All Season? Super 8 Motel

The All Seasons Super 8 Motel is a newly constructed 32-unit motel. We are 27 miles from a ski area and 250 miles of groomed snowmobile trails. There is a golf course within 1 block, the Old Castle is just 7 blocks away and there is a ghost town nearby.

Arrowhead Meadows

Arrowhead Meadows Golf Course is a 9-hole municipal course located just south of White Sulpher Springs, Montana in the beautiful Smith River Valley. The Big Belt Mountains and the Castle Mountains border the valley on the west and east. The course is fairly new being completed in 1989.

Avalanche Basin Outfitters

Avalanche Basin Outfitters offers elk/whitetail deer combination hunts in the Big Belt Mountains of central Montana. Hunts take place on 54,000 acres of private ranch leases. All hunts are fully guided, 4 hunters per guide, 6 hunters per hunt, and 6 full days of actual hunting per hunt.

Bald Hills Trail (345) is a good trail for access to Tenderfoot Creek. The trail passes through private land. The landowner allows foot and horse traffic within the private land. Parking at the trailhead is limited. Bald Hills Trail makes a great one to two day trip.

Balsinger Trail (343) makes a very good one to two day hike. The recommended season is late spring to mid-autumn. This trail is used very little by horses or motorized vehicles. It is not a good access route to Tenderfoot Creek. The trail crosses Balsinger Creek many times.

Bear Gulch Trail (310) is an access route to Smith River. The recommended season is late spring to mid-autumn. The trail crosses private land, but the landowner allows use of trail without permission. There is very little use by horses or motorized vehicles.

Birch Creek Outfitters offers 4x4 rifle hunts for elk, mule deer, white tail deer, black bear and mountain lion. In addition, we also offer stream and lake fishing.

Blankenbaker Trail (320) is located in parks, meadows or open country. This makes a very nice two to five day trip. The elevation of the trail is 6,800 to 4,800 feet. The recommended season is late spring to late autumn.

Length: 2.5 miles. Heavy use

Four person capacity; cost $30.00. Access Forest Road Number 119. Not plowed. Cabin is located 8 miles from Highway 89. Wood stove and firewood provided.

We operate the Camp Baker Outfitters in the fall. Our guest cabin has been visited by many people from around the United States, and is available all year. We boast of fresh air, beautiful Montana sky and the blue ribbon trout Smith River.

Castle Museum

'The Castle' is an imposing mansion built in 1892 by Bryon Roger Sherman, and is now the home of the Meagher County Museum. The Victorian landmark is made of hand-cut granite blocks hauled by oxen from the nearby Castle Mountains.

Copperopolis served originally as a stage station. It was halfway between White Sulphur Springs and Martinsdale. In 1866 copper veins were discovered in the area north of the Castle Mountains and started attracting attention as a mining center.

Cow Coulee Trail (331) is an access route to Smith River. The recommended season is late spring to late autumn. The trail crosses private land and ends at a boat camp on the Smith River. This makes a good two day trip.

Crow Creek Outfitters offers summer vacations (July-August) in the Crazy Mountains. Enjoy fantastic fishing for Rainbow and Brook Trout in well stocked reservoirs and Montana streams. Abundant wildlife and beautiful scenery await your cameras.

Deep Creek Ridge Trail (338) is part of the Deep Creek Figure 8 Loop National Recreations Trail. This trail is good for a three to four day trip into Deep Creek area. The reccommended season is late spring to late autumn.

The start of the trail in Mill Creek is the start of the Deep Creek Figure 8 Loop National Recreation Trail. Deep Creek Trail (303) can be used to access the Smith River and for fishing in the North Fork of Deep Creek. Use of the upper 6.1 miles by horses and motorized vehicles is heavy.

Dori's Cafe offers clean, friendly service in an area known for its scenery and recreational opportunities. Our extensive menu features sumptuous breakfast, a variety of crisp fresh salads; and an imaginative selection of sandwiches, soups, and desserts.

Double Gulch Trail (354) is an excellent trail for a one to five day trip. It provides access to Tenderfoot Creek and can be used as part of loop with other trails. The trail is mostly used by horses. Parking at trailhead is limited. The recommended season is late spring to late autumn.

First National Bank is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm and Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The drive-up bank is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm.

At Forest Green resort, we provide cabin accommodations. We also have a bar and offer fine dining. The area offers excellent hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping. Forest Green is a trail head offering access to over 200 miles of groomed snowmobile trails.
