Chinook

One of three sites of the Nez Perce National Historic Park in Montana, the Bear Paw Battlefield is located 16 miles south of Chinook on Highway 240. At this site, Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce surrendered on October 5, 1877 after a 1,300 mile retreat.

The Bear Paw Court Motel and RV Park is open year round. There are 16 units, both doubles and singles. All of the units are at ground level with ample parking space. All units are large modern rooms with TV, air conditioning, phone service and computer ports.

The Blaine County Museum is an historical museum with an emphasis on the homestead era. Originally opening in 1977, the museum is located in 'Griffin Hall', an historic building built in 1915.

Chinook is a rural community located in north central Montana. The Chinook area offers one of the most historic regions of the state.

CHINOOK MOTOR INN is a complete modern facility with 38 clean, comfortable rooms, family restaurant and lounge/casino.

The Presbyterian Church of Chinook was founded in 1899, and is one of the oldest churches in Chinook. Our winter hour for worship is at 9:00am followed by Sunday School. Our summer hour of worship is 10:30pm. Both services are followed by coffee hour in the fellowship hall.

The present St. Gabriel's Church was built in 1954. The architecture of the church is contemporary and was determined by a desire to obtain a deeply spiritual atmosphere by means of a simple, sharply sloping ceiling. Natural materials were used to achieve an enduring quality.
