Big Snowy Trail

Big Snowy Trail (650) connects Red Hill Road with summit of Old Baldy (Big Snowy), easternmost of high peaks in Big Snowy Mountains Summit provides outstanding 360 degree panorama of Big and Little Belts, Castles, Crazies, and Square and round Buttes. No water along trail.

Chief Joseph Park

Chief Joseph Park is located in Harlowton in central Montana. Groceries, a clothing store, museum, gas stations, a municipal swimming pool and 8 churches are within a one mile radius. Tent sites and RV sites with electricity are available.

The Harlowton bank is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm and Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm.

Corral Motel

The Corral Motel is located in some of the best hunting in Montana. There are deer, elk, antelope, bear and mountain lions. Also pheasant, wild turkey, also great fishing in streams, rivers, and lakes. The Corral is within 30 minutes to three different mountain ranges.

Country Side Inn

We are known for our homey atmosphere and the cleanliness of our rooms. We offer some non-smoking rooms, refrigerators, king and queen size beds, 20-inch color remote controlled TVs, and always personal service with a smile. Free coffee and tea are available in the front office.

Daisy Canyon Trail (619) follows Daisy-Dean Creek through timber and open meadows on the upper access. Through Daisy Narrows there are 200 feet cliffs on either side to just inside southern forest boundary.

This site offers group shelters, camping, boat launch, trash cans (5/1 - 9/30), grills/fire rings, picnic tables, toilets and the convenience of a golf course and museum in nearby Harlowton. The area covers over 617 acres and is situated at 4,245 feet in elevation.

East Fork Spring Creek Trail (608) passes from Muddy Mountain through timber for 5 miles then passes through Round Park before dropping into East Fork of Spring Creek Canyon.

Sunday worship 10:30am and 6:30pm. Sunday school is at 9:30am. Wednesday bible study and family night is at 7:00pm. Each scheduled worship has activities for all ages.

A convenient stop at the junction of US Highways 12 and 91.

Haymaker Canyon Trail (602) is the eastern most trail in the Little Belts drops down Haymaker Canyon, the longest canyon on Musselshell District, through Haymaker Narrows with 200 feet cliffs on either side, crossing the creek 4 or 5 times.

Haymaker Park Trail (604) is a short trail that provides access to a system of trails. Nevada Creek Trail 601, Haymaker Canyon Trail 602, and Daisy-Mountain-High Trail 603 all join Haymaker Park.

Haymaker Wildlife Management Area encompasses 1360 acres.

Management goal: The Haymaker Wildlife Management Area (HWMA) was purchased in 1957 to provide winter range for elk, allow for expansion of the base herd and alleviate depredation on privately owned lands.

Eight person capacity; cost $20.00. Plowed within 7 miles of cabin. Propane stove, refrigerator, wood stove, firewood, and water provided. Available 12/1 - 3/31.

Jawbone Creek Golf Course

Jawbone Creek Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course.

Rates: $11 for 9 holes, $18 for 18 holes

The Made in Harlo Shop is a co-op of local crafters, artisans and manufacture's of the Harlowton area.

Maps and general information available for National Forest users. Open Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Neil Connection Trail (653) follows a primitive road along foot hills of Big Snowies from Brooks Coulee to Timber Creek, crossing East and West Fork drainages of Blake Creek. Provides access to Neil Creek Trail. The trailhead in Brooks Coulee has a stock ramp, feed bunker and parking area.

Niel Creek Trail (654) follows a primitive road up Neil Creek for first 0.5 mile. From this point trail is closed to motorized travel for last 2 miles because of the switchbacks up the ridge to Ice Cave. Good views of Musselshell Valley, Crazy and Beartooth Mountains.
