Choteau

Arod Lake is a state fishing access site located in northwest Montana. One of the region's several wildlife preserves, the Arod Lakes Waterfowl Production Area is worth getting off the beaten path to visit. The 800-acre unit is located about 15 miles northeast of Choteau.

Blacktail Snowmobile Trail (223) is a pleasant, easy to moderately difficult hike through a predominantly forested environment. The upper reaches of the drainage open into large meadows with good views to Sawtooth Ridge and Sun River Canyon.

Bynum Reservoir State Fishing Access does permit camping with a 14 day stay limit. A boat launch and toilets are available. Existing ADA Level: Easy Accessibilty.

Cave Mountain campground is located in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains along the shore of the North Fork of the Teton River with some sites overlooking the river. The campground is at an elevation of 5200 feet and offers 14 campsites to choose from.

Choteau City Park and Campground is located in the center of Choteau. We offer shaded campsites along Spring Creek, as well as a park and playground. Water, restrooms, are provided.

Rates: $13 for 9 holes and $22 for 18 holes for weekdays, $16 for 9 holes and $24 for 18 holes weekends

Choteau KOA offers 20 tent sites and 55 RV sites. We also have a game room and 3 cabins. You can explore Glacier National Park, discover the Bob Marshall Wilderness, birdwatch at Freezout Lake, dig dinosaur bones at Egg Mountain or hunt and fish from this great base camp!

Saturday worship starts at 11:00am. Saturday Sabbath school starts at 10:00am.

The Circle N Restaurant is the best the west has to offer. In the foothills of the Rocky Mountain Front - dinosaur digs, fishing, hunting, boating, horseback riding, camping, skiing, whatever the season - we got it!

The bank's lobby is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm and Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Our drive-up bank is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Clary Coulee Trail (177) is a nice day hike.

Crown Mountain Trail (270) is a scenic trail over a high pass. Trail 270 is 2.7 miles long and gains elevation quickly from Ford Creek to Crown Montain climbing at 10 to 15 percent. Rock is hardpacked with good width and clearance.

Ear Mountain is a Wildlife Management Area with access to the North Fork of Willow Creek. It encompasses 3,047 acres.

Management goal: To provide wildlife habitat for mule deer, bighorn sheep, grizzly bears and black bears, and access to public lands along the Rocky Mountain Front.

Elk Calf Trail (137) offers a scenic view of Glacier National Park. The Summit Cutoff Trail 133 climbs for 1.2 miles to the Two Medicine-Elk Calf Loop. The first portion of this trail is steep but usable. At the junction the decision must be made on which direction to proceed.

Elko Campground offers 3 sites during summer and fall. No water is available but there are toilets, fireplaces, and picnic tables. Activities available include hiking and fishing.
