A Lewis & Clark Canoe Expedition provides guided, outfitted river trips on the Missouri and Marias rivers. With over seven years of experience, we give one of the most comprehensive historical tours along the Lewis and Clark Trail.

Benton RV Park is located in Fort Benton city limits, birthplace of Montana. North central Montana on Highway 87 between Great Falls and Havre. The Missouri River runs through the town of Fort Benton, which is right on the Lewis and Clark Trail.

Choteau County Fair Campground is located in Fort Benton. Site next to canoe launch on Missouri River.

Double Circle Ranch Hayrides

Welcome to Double Circle Ranch Hayride. We offer horse drawn hayrides on our ranch which is located just 10 minutes east of historic Fort Benton. Although we are close to town, we are secluded enough that a ride with us can feel like stepping into the old west.

We are equipped to handle a small brunch for 20, to barbecued Prime Rib meal for 600. We can also handle larger groups depending on the menu chosen. All of our entrees and side dishes, including desserts and salads, are made form scratch the Montana way - lots of food with lots of quality.

Service with a smile has new meaning at Expedition. While not everyone is good at remembering names, the owners are often known as those people who smile all the time. Summer in Fort Benton is gorgeous with the valley full of trees fully leafed out.

The First State Bank is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm and Friday from 9:00am to 4:30pm.

Fort Benton

Established in 1864, Fort Benton is known as the 'Birthplace of Montana'. An American Fur Company trading post at first, it became the hub for trade and travel throughout the northwestern United States and Canada.

Fort Benton Chamber of Commerce

As a trading post, military fort and head of steamboat navigation, this Missouri River town was the world's innermost port and 'toughest town in the West' from 1860 to 1887. Today it is a gateway for exploration of the Upper Missouri Wild and Scenic River.

Franklin Street Guest House

The Franklin Street Guest House is located on a tree lined street in a quiet neighborhood, three blocks from the Missouri River in historic Fort Benton. It will sleep six comfortably in three bedrooms, one queen and four twin beds.
