Pioneer Ridge Trail (734) is an excellent trail for a 1 to 3 day hike. The recommnded season of use is early summer to mid-autumn.

Reynolds Park Trail (349) serves as a good access route to Tenderfoot Creek from the south. Some of the road used to access the trail and part of the trail is located on private land. Obtain permission to cross Reynolds Park.

Rhynard Ranch Recreation

First settled in the 1880's, and still a working cattle ranch, the Rhynard Ranch sits high in the rugged Castle Mountains of central Montana.

Richardson Campground is located in the Lewis and Clark National Forest in the Castle Mountains. At an elevation of 5,500 feet, the campground encompasses 8 acres. It is located in a lodgepole pine forest on a hillside. There are 3 campsites provided with restrooms.

Richardson Creek Campground is located in Lewis and Clark National Forest. The campground has three designated campsites. Restrooms are available, but water is not so remember to bring your own. There are scenic trails for hiking at Richardson Creek.

Robertson Spring Trail (317) is very steep and rocky. The recommended season of use is late spring to mid-autumn. The upper portion of the trail is located on private land. Please stay on the trail.

Length: 2.0 miles. Heavy use

Smart Fork Trail (352) is steep and heads into South Fork Deep Creek. The recommended season is late spring to late autumn. Parking at the trailhead is limited.

Length: 3.2 miles.Trail Begins: Trail Junction 301.Trail Ends: Trail Junction 316

South Fork Deep Creek Trail (316) crosses back and forth across the South Fork of Deep Creek. It is located in the bottom of the canyon. Makes part of a good 2 to 5 day trip by using other trails in the area. The recommended season of use is late spring to late autumn.

Conestoga Campground

SRV Conestoga Campground is located 4 blocks from National Scenic Byway US Highway 89, the shortest route between Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks. Our park is nestled in the heart of wonderful recreation and scenic opportunities in the Big Belt and Little Belt Mountains.

Stageline Pizza, Video & Strand Theatre occupy the same building. Movies run on Weekends: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings at 7:00pm there are booths in the theatre so you can enjoy a pizza while watching a movie. Reservations are advised as these are very popular.

Strawberry Ridge Trail (311) offers a very good views of the surrounding country. The trail is a good access route to the Smith River. This is an excellent route to use with other trails for a 2 to 5 day trip. The recommended season of use is late spring to late autumn.

Taylor Connector Trail (351) is a shortcut from Balsinger to Taylor Hills. Very little motorized use.

Taylor Hills Trail (344) is a good short route for access to Tenderfoot Creek. The first 3.5 miles is used by 4x4 vehicles. The last 0.5 mile is steep and not usable for vehicles. Ample parking at the trailhead. The recommended season of use is late spring to late autumn.

Tenderfoot Trail (342) provides access to some excellent trout fishing in Tenderfoot. The trail is located in the bottom along the creek. There are 23 creek crossing from the start of the trail to the Zehntner Ranch.

There is a $25 a night usage fee and a maximum stay of five nights. The cabin will accommodate up to six people. Drive to cabin in the summer (6/1 - 9/15).

Tillinghurst Creek Trail (322) is steep and heads into South Fork Deep Creek. View from the trail is limited the last mile. Parking at the trailhead is limited.

Tri Mountain Outfitters offers a variety of hunts from elk, white tail deer, mule deer and antelope. We use 4 wheel drive crew cabs and suburbans for your transportation needs. We use one guide per two hunters.
