Eureka Reservoir is a state fishing access site located in northwest Montana. Fishing and boating may be enjoyed on the Eureka Reservoir. There is a boat launch and toilets are available. There is a 14 day stay limit.

Gunther Motel is a one-story family/pet orientated facility. We have on premise laundry room, coffee in office and coffee pots available for those who wish to use them. We are 4 blocks from downtown, located in a quite residential setting.

Lonesome Ridge Trail (154) is an attractive access route to Lonesome Ridge and Route Creek Trail 108. The trail is predominantly forested climbing at steep grades and dropping to an open saddle at the top. Good views are offered looking both north and south.

Mill Falls Campground offers 4 sites by waterfalls during summer and fall. No water is available but there are toilets, fireplaces, and picnic tables. Activities available include hiking and fishing.

The Mount Frazier-Chicken Coulee Trail (153) is a long trail traversing the front range of the Rocky Mountains where the mountains meet the plains. The trail always offers good views to the west, to the plains, and along the high walls and peak of the Front.

The North Fork Teton Trail (107) heads toward the West Fork Station and passes through the narrow and winding walls of Box Canyon.

Length: 5 km of more difficult trail; no grooming

Old Trail Museum

'Unearth the Mystery'Past and Present' with the Old Trail Museum. Located at the north end of Choteau, on US Highway 89, the non-profit museum reflects the rich natural and cultural history of Montana's pristine Rocky Mountain Front region.

A glacier lily droops between furry paws. A marmot surveys the meadow from its perch on a sun-warmed boulder. Flower and marmot share a tenuous existence in the alpine basin of Our Lake. Seasons are short, winters bitter.

Outdoor Memories Art Studio

Outdoor Memories, is the art studio of Jim Utsler, he enjoys hiking through the splendor of the Rocky Mountains for much of his inspiration. Although the mountains represent a large portion of Jim's work he uses all aspects of life to create his art.

Outpost Deli

To enjoy a fine family meal at a low price with courteous and friendly service, stop at the Outpost Deli. We also have an ice cream parlor to help cool off those hot summer days. We also do take-out orders. We have expanded our seating area and have an inviting, cozier interior.

Patrol Mountain Trail (213) is steep with grades of 30 percent. There is one long ford crossing Straight Creek shallow but wide. Hikers should carry their own water on this strenous hike. Obtain a copy of the Forest Visitor's to determine travel restrictions.

Petty Ford Creek Trail

On Petty Ford Creek Trail (244) you should keep in mind the availability of stock water. The only reliable resources are Ford Creek and Petty Creek. Forage is readily available as the trail passes across large meadowed benches and aspen groves.

The Nature Conservancy's Pine Butte Guest Ranch, located along the majestic East Front of the Rockies, mixes the traditional guest ranch with on-site nature study for a relaxing, educational vacation.

Pine Butte Swamp Preserve located west of Choteau; is a unique wetland encompassing 18,000 acres along Montana's Rocky Mountain Front managed and protected as a Nature Conservancy Preserve.

Pishkun Reservoir is part of the Sun River Project. The Reservoir is an off stream storage reservoir, about 15 miles northeast of Gibson Dam and is formed by 8 earthfill dikes with heights ranging from 12 to 50 feet and an overall length of 9,050 feet.

Rierdon Gulch Trail (126) is very scenic but is included in a cattle grazing allotment. Rierdon Gulch Trail is predominantly open and grassy with interspersed stands of aspen, lodgepole pine, Douglas-fir and scattered limber pine.
