Lewis and Clark Memorial

The State of Montana's Lewis and Clark Memorial resides on Fort Benton's steamboat levee next to the Missouri River. The memorial of Lewis, Clark, and Sacagawea with infant son was done by Bob Scriver, a renowned western artist.

Loma Bridge Fishing Access is a day use only site. A boat launch, toilets, and access for camp trailers available. Open all season. Existing ADA Level: Easy Accessibility.

Missouri River Outfitters, Inc.

Missouri River Outfitters has the only licensed master riverboat pilots on the Upper Missouri. Our captains and crew are wise in the ways of the river, who make camping a pleasure and can relate well the history and folklore that is a part of this Western Adventure Land.

Museum of the Northern Great Plains

The Museum of the Northern Great Plains is the official museum for agriculture for the State of Montana. It tells the story of three generations of farmers from 1908 until 1980. It is about their lives, their culture and their work.

Museum of the Upper Missouri

Museum Of The Upper Missouri covers the history of the Upper Missouri from 1800 to 1900, highlighting the importance of Fort Benton and the role it played as a trading post, military fort and the head of steamboat navigation.

The remaining monument of the old fur trading days of Fort Benton stands on the banks of the Missouri River. This old northeast bastion is a mute reminder of the days when all of Montana was an unexplored wilderness, inhabited only by the tribes of the northern plains.

Pioneer Lodge

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Pioneer Lodge is the remodeled Mercantile Store, built in 1916. Historically the site has been a mercantile store started by T. C. Power in 1867 with tents and then building his first store in 1882.

Power Motors Ford - Mercury is a full service Ford & Mercury automobile business. Power Motors services, rents and sells motor vehicles. The shop is large enough to service RV units.

If rivers could talk, the Missouri would tell a story few other rivers could match.

Fairfield and Fort Benton office drive-up windows have service from 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Square Butte

Square Butte has been designated an Outstanding Natural Area. The flat topped butte juts 2400 feet above the surrounding plains. With its soaring buttresses, spires, and pinnacles it is a compelling and imposing site.

Sunday worship is at 9:00am in St. Paul's Episcopal Church at Fort Benton. St. Paul's is one of the oldest masonry buildings in the state. This Norman-Gothic church was constructed in 1880 and the oldest Episcopal church in Montana and the oldest church in Fort Benton.

The Freeze offers a full menu of take out food items including burgers, hot dogs, various sandwiches, fries, chicken, shrimp and fish. Broasted chicken orders are a must for a picnic on the Missouri River or in the Old Fort Park.
