Fergus County Fairgrounds is nestled in the very center of Montana. There is water on the grounds and access to showers seasonally. We have the most beautiful Fairgrounds in the state, with grassy areas in abundance and many trees.

First National Bank's lobby is open Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 4:00pm. The auto bank is located at 205 West Broadway. It is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 12:00pm (noon).

Fort Benton is an historic town at the beginning of the Upper Missouri National Wild and Scenic River. The Bureau of Land Management Visitor Center is within the Fort Benton Historic District.

Mining around Gilt Edge was not easy because regular means of mining could not be used. It was in 1893 when a cyanide mill was established at the foot of the mountain that Gilt Edge became a settlement. The ore quality was always low grade around Gilt Edge.

Historic Calvert Hotel

Calvert Hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We have 45 rooms. About half the rooms have private bath and color television. Half the rooms have a bath down the hall. We have TV in the lobby.

Hole-in-the-Wall Educational Adventures

The Hole-in-the-Wall specializes in the history of central & eastern Montana, with adventures on the Missouri River, the C. M Russell Wildlife Refuge & the Yellowstone River.

Hruska Fishing Access is a day use only site. Open all season.

The Ice Caves Trail (455) climbs almost 5 miles to the permanent ice caves on the Snowy Crest. The first part of this trail climbs 3 miles to the top of the Snowy Crest and gains 2,200 feet in elevation. This portion of the hike is moderately difficult.

Judith Shadows Golf Course includes a 18-hole course, pro shop, cart and club rentals and clubhouse (snacks and refreshments available). Open to the public. Open seasonally. Mountain view from creek bottom of golf course. Bent grass course with water in play. Built in 1997.

Harry T. Kendall had built a cyanide mill, a house, a stable, and a boardinghouse for his forty employees by 1900. The Kendall Gold Mining Company mined an average of $800 a day. Within the first five years of operation, $2,500,000 of bullion was produced.

Kipp Recreation Area

Kipp Recreation Area offers 19 single units and 15 multi/group camp sites, potable water, public telephone, a floaters tent camp site, boat ramp, fish cleaning table, 5 restroom sites, and an RV dump station. There is a host on site during the summer season.

L. Morrison is a women's retail shop that caters to the lady that likes comfort plus style in her clothing. We carry a large selection of Koret and Graff for that shopper plus a large inventory of Woolrich for the active, outdoor woman
