Fort Assinniboine Historic Site, Northern Agricultural Research Center

Fort Assinniboine Historic Site, Northern Agricultural Research Center

Fort Assinniboine Historic Site was constructed in 1879, and became the largest military fort west of the Mississippi River. The post had 104 buildings and was contained within a 40 mile long by 15 mile wide military reservation. Several of the original buildings still stand.

Fresno Reservoir

Fresno reservoir has 7,388 surface acres and 65 miles of shoreline, offers good fishing opportunity for walleye, northern pike, and perch. Concrete boat ramp, picnic shelters, and swimming beach.

Fresno Reservoir Campground

Fresno Reservoir Campground has tent and trailer sites and handicapped accessible restrooms, but no drinking water is available. The campground is near fishing and boating access. A boat launch is provided. The reservoir is also a great place for swimming.

Fresno Tailwater

Fresno Tailwater is a state fishing access site located in northeast Montana near the Milk River. Although this is a day use only site, camping is available on Bureau of Reclamation administered land adjacent to this site. A boat launch and toilets are available. Open all season.
