The Great Northern Carousel is a family affair for Alan Nicholson, wife and five children. All have contributed in one way or another. Molly, eight years old, helped by having her class test ride the Carousel.

Green Meadow Country Club

Green Meadow Country Club is a private 18-hole course at 2720 Country Club Avenue. Members and their guests are allowed to play the course; however, anyone living more than 60 miles away can visit without an accompanying member.

By driving up Helena's Last Chance Gulch, you arrive at Grizzly Gulch, lined by old diggings. Four miles beyond is Unionville, around which are several old gold mines, including the Spring Hill and Whitlatch Union.

Hannaford Street Baptist Church is located close to Interstate 15 and Highway 12. Sunday worship begins at 8:30am and 10:45am. Sunday school at 9:45am. A nursery and children's program is provided and visitors are welcome.

Hauser Lake

Hauser Lake is a 3,720 acre reservoir on the Missouri River created by Hauser Dam. The lake yields Kokanee Salmon; for which it holds the state record, rainbow and brown trout, walleye and perch. It is an extremely popular take-off point for weekend boating, fishing, and water skiing.

Helena Campground and RV Park is located three miles north of Montana's Capitol City. The campground can accommodate all types of recreational vehicles. Laundromat, clean restrooms, showers and convenience store (store closed in winter) are open April 1 through September 30.

Helena National Forest is located in west central Montana and surrounds the capital city of Helena. The forest contains 976,000 acres and is one of 10 national forests in the state.

Helena Ranger District

The Helena Ranger Station is one of 3 district offices on the Helena National Forest. Hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm weekdays. Visitor maps and general forest information is available, as well as permits for firewood and Christmas trees.
