Miracle of America Museum, Inc.

The largest collection of antique artifacts in western Montana is exhibited at the MIRACLE OF AMERICA MUSEUM. Called The Smithsonian of the West by many visitors, displays include everything from a tiny bird-point arrowhead to the 65 feet.

Our facility has a local history library. We also have a library containing books and magazines on art. This extensive collection was given to the Heritage Center by the family of local artist, Charlotte Rees Gabisch.

The Cowboys Museum is one of the many projects the Montana Cowboys Association has undertaken to perpetuate the historical importance of our western heritage.

The Montana Law Enforcement Museum, a free museum, first opened in May 1989. The leased site is located inside Old .Montana State Prison on Main Street in Deer Lodge.

The Natural History Center has great displays on the local and regional geology, flora and fauna, and provides guided tours of the Philip L. Wright Zoological Museum on the University Campus. The Center also produces the radio program 'Field Notes' for Montana Public Radio.

Montana State University Northern Collections

The MSU-Northern Archives contains photographs of Havre and northern Montana as well as photographs of the MSU-Northern campus. Also in the collection are rare books, maps, architectural blueprints of the buildings on campus, and the records of various college presidents.

Museum of Mountain Flying

Montana is the birthplace of mountain flying. This museum seeks to interpret and preserve the history of mountain flying in Montana and the northern Rockies. There are aircraft displays as well as interactive history displays.

Museum of the Beartooths

Museum of the Beartooths in Columbus reflects Stillwater County's corner of Montana History. We are enjoying our fifth May-to-September season in 1997. The main building, newly constructed as a museum in 1991, briefly outlines local history back to the 1870's.

Museum of the Northern Great Plains

The Museum of the Northern Great Plains is the official museum for agriculture for the State of Montana. It tells the story of three generations of farmers from 1908 until 1980. It is about their lives, their culture and their work.

Museum of the Plains Indian

Museum of the Plains Indian is a permanent exhibition gallery, which presents a rich collection of historic arts created by tribal people of the Northern Plains. There are three dioramas. Carved wood panels by Blackfeet sculptor John Clarke are on display.

Museum of the Upper Missouri

Museum Of The Upper Missouri covers the history of the Upper Missouri from 1800 to 1900, highlighting the importance of Fort Benton and the role it played as a trading post, military fort and the head of steamboat navigation.

Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana

The Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana was established in 1998 to discover and memorialize the history and culture of the Flathead Indian Reservation and early Montana.

O?allon Historical Museum

The main attraction at the O'Fallon Historical Museum at Baker, Montana is Steer Montana. Steer Montana is a Roan Polled Shorthorn Breed that was born March 23, 1923. He lived 15 years and 4 months. A local rancher, Mr. Jack Guth raised and used Steer Montana in traveling shows.

Old Jail Museum

Open from Mother's Day to Labor Day, the Old Jail Museum is one of the oldest buildings in continuous use in Sanders County.

Old Montana Prison

Discover yesteryear when you step into the first Territorial Prison in the western United States. The prison was built by convict labor in the late 1800's. The gray sandstone walls of this immense structure are 24 feet high and buried 4 feet deep to prevent escape by tunneling.

Old Prison Auto Museum

Old Trail Museum
