The Oregon Short Line Railroad once brought travelers to Yellowstone in style and comfort. Today, the 1903 executive car has been restored to museum quality and sits in the heart of the West Yellowstone Conference Hotel. It serves as the theme for the Oregon Short Line Restaurant.

Yellowstone County Museum was organized in 1953 and sits atop the rims at Logan International Airport overlooking the city of Billings and the scenic Yellowstone River Valley. Entrance to the more than 5000 exhibits of area history and Native American artifacts is through a pioneer log cabin.

Phillips County Museum

The Phillips County Museum is the heart of Missouri River Country and on the Lewis and Clark Trail. The purpose of the museum is to preserve the natural, historic and cultural heritage of the Phillips County region for others to enjoy.

Piccadilly Museum of Transportation

The Piccadilly Museum is the public showcase for a large collection of transportation memorabilia gathered over 25 years by several individuals who have traveled to more than 100 countries around the world.

Pioneer Pride Museum in Bainville features a pioneer bedroom, kitchen, and music room. There is also an old jail from Mon-Dak and a 1929 fire truck. The museum is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, Tuesdays through Sundays from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Admission is free.

Polson-Flathead Historical Museum

The Polson Flathead Historical Museum opened in 1972 to preserve the history of the Mission Valley and the Flathead Indian Reservation. We are opening the Lambert Trading Post which was the first building in Polson during 1870-1880 time span.

City Museum is housed in the old Tribal Jail built around 1920, now on the historic register. Frontier and Indian collections are displayed in the cells. We are open daily from June 1st to Labor Day, 11:00am - 5:00pm.

Powder River Historical Museum and Mac's Museum

The Museum was opened in June of 1988 at the location of the Midland Lumber Company (formerly the Yellowstone Lumber Company). Horace and Charlotte Wilbur Broaddus, as a gift to be made in memory of the Broaddus, Wilbur and Fudge families, purchased the property.

Range Riders Museum

The Range Riders Museum was built on the site of the 1876 Fort Keogh containment and was opened in August of 1941. This privately financed museum is located on the site where General Nelson A. Miles constructed Cantonment #1 to secure the area in the aftermath of the Custer Battle.

The Ravalli County Museum, the former Ravalli County Courthouse, built by A.J Gibson in 1900, served as the Ravalli County Courthouse until 1979 when it was saved from the wreckers ball by a vote of the people.

Richey Historical Museum

The Richey Historical Museum opened October, 1973. The purpose of our Museum is to preserve articles of early homestead days.

Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Wildlife Visitor Center

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Wildlife Visitor Center features an impressive display of world record elk, life-size mounts of many other North American animals, and educational displays about elk and other wildlife.

The Rosebud County Pioneer Museum houses collections from Forsyth and Rosebud County's founding families. Included in these collections are everyday items from the turn of the century, Indian artifacts and beadwork, vintage clothing, barbed wire display and various farm implements.

Schoolhouse History and Art Center

The Schoolhouse History & Art Center (SHAC) was originally built in 1924 as a schoolhouse for the new community of coal miners and area ranchers.

Visitors are amazed to walk into an old barn to find historic displays in the original horse stalls. Collections provided by local residents depict life, events and resources found in the surrounding area in years past.

The Sheridan County Museum was completed in 1968 to capture and preserve some of the historical flavor. fashions and fixtures of Sheridan County's early days.

Smokejumper Visitor's Center

The Smokejumper Visitor Center is the largest active smokejumper base in the nation. The Smokejumper Visitor Center is a unique opportunity to learn about this unusual, demanding and dramatic occupation. A tour of the facility is also available.
