Darby's Pioneer Memorial Museum was originally one of the first hand-hewn homestead cabins built in the area. It was crafted by early settler Evelin Matteson in 1886 on his homestead near the mouth of tin cup creek.

Depot Museum

Depot Museum has displays of items representing the era from homesteading on. A collection of obituaries and newspaper clippings. The depot has displays of household items, a display of post offices, tools, buggy and sleigh and also clothing.

The Dumas, built as a brothel in 1890, was open as a house of prostitution continuously until 1982, making it the longest running freestanding enterprise of its kind in the United States. The Dumas is the only preserved building in what was once Butte's thriving red light district.

Earth Science Museum hosts a wide collection of gems, minerals, fossils and Native American artifacts discovered in the area. The town of Loma served as a stop for the Great Northern Railroad beginning in the late 1800s.

International Fly Fishing Center

Combining a fly fishing museum, a fly fishing research library, dynamic aquarium displays, an extensive collection of angling art and educational programs, the Federation of Fly Fishers' Fly Fishing Discovery Center offers visitors a complete introduction into the sport of fly fishing.

Flathead Indian Museum & Trading Post

Rich in history and Native American culture, St. Ignatius is a small town on the Flathead Indian Reservation offering spectacular views of the Mission Valley and range.

Fort Peck Interpretive Center and Museum

The Fort Peck Dam Interpretive Center and Museum will have its' grand opening on May 7th, 2005. The Interpretive Center is the result of a unique partnership between Fort Peck Paleontology Incorporated, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The museum is historical and chronological in content. Displays range from prehistoric times to the 20th century.

Major displays include fossils, buffalo, Indian, homesteaders, cattlemen, settlers, railroad, Civil War, and numerous miscellaneous displays that fit into those eras.

The crew and cast of Frontier House spent most of 2001 in Montana filming the series in which three modern day families time-travel back to live as they would have on the 1883 Rocky Mountain frontier.

This museum holds two of the finest collections of western memorabilia in the country-the lifelong collections of Don Cappa and Desert John Blomquist.

To step back in time and learn about Gallatin County's heritage, visit the Pioneer Museum in Bozeman. The museum offers a unique glimpse into the area's past. Together with jail cells and a hanging gallows, the museum has displays dealing with the pioneers who settled the valley.

Garden of the Rockies Museum

The Garden of the Rockies Museum was the first church in Ronan-built in the early 1900s. It was given to the Mission Valley Heritage Association in 1980 and moved to its present site with a beautiful view of our famous Sheep's Head Mountain.

Garfield County Museum

The Garfield County Museum opened its doors in August of 1984. There is a full size Triceratops. The original was dug out north of Jordan. There are also several other fossils, including a T-Rex head. A homestead cabin and an old black smith shop replica have been built inside the museum.

The Glacier County Museum opened its doors Oct. 19, 1985. This 13.9 acre site was donated by Darrell and Rod Peterson. The Glacier County Museum's purpose is to preserve and reflect on the history of the homesteaders, the oil boom of the 1930's and the history of the Blackfeet tribe.

Grand Lodge of Montana Museum and Library

The Grand Lodge Office, Museum and Library were built on a former placer mining claim, the cornerstone was laid on July 18, 1936.

Granite County Museum & Cultural Center

The Granite County Museum & Cultural Center, located in the historic Courtney Hotel on South Sansome Street, was founded in 1991, with the help of dedicated volunteers and generous donors and held its grand opening May, 1992.

H. Earl Clack Memorial Museum

The H. Earl Clack Museum has excellent dioramas illustrative of the history and development of this area. The museum offers interpretive displays correlated with archaeological findings in the nearby Wahpka Chug'n bison kill site.

Headwaters Heritage Museum

The Headwaters Heritage Museum of Three Forks is one of those gems a tourist sometimes finds off the well-traveled highway. The museum, located at the corner of Main and Cedar, was formerly a bank building, built in 1910. It contains thousands of artifacts depicting the area's history.

Heritage Museum

The Heritage Museum is a 12-sided log structure 130' in diameter and is manned by volunteers. The exhibits portray the various peoples that came into the area - Kootenai Indians, trappers, miners, lumber men, and women.

Founded in 1972, the Cascade County Historical Society administers a museum, an archives, and a rather extensive educational program.
