Cameahwait Campground has tent and trailer campsites, handicapped accessible restrooms, and drinking water. Fishing access is nearby. Please limit your stay to 14 days.

Camp Fortunate

Camp Fortunate Overlook is one of the more significant spots along the Lewis and Clark Trail. It was at Camp Fortunate that the Lewis and Clark expedition met the Limhi Shoshoni Tribe and cached their canoes and a stash of supplies for the return trip.

Walking through this small, easily accessible cattail marsh surrounded by dry uplands at the north end of Clark Canyon Reservoir is a good way to see bird life.

Recreation on Clark Canyon Reservoir and Barrett's Diversion Dam, located on the Beaverhead River south of Dillon, Montana, is managed by the Bureau of Reclamation. Clark Canyon Reservoir is the site of Camp Fortunate, one of the more significant spots along the Lewis and Clark Trail.

Clark? Lookout State Park

This outcrop above the Beaverhead River provided the Lewis and Clark Expedition a view of the route ahead. The site is undeveloped and unsigned. It is situated on 7 acres of land at 5,118 feet. A golf course and three museums are located nearby in Dillon.

Corrals Fishing Access Site is a day use only site. A boat launch is available. Open all season.

Crystal Park

Crystal Park is a unique recreation area at an elevation of 7,800 feet in the Pioneer Mountains in southwest Montana. Crystal Park is open for day use only and has a fee per car.

The Dillon Public Library is a Romanesque revival structure completed in 1902 using local stone. The steep gable, octagonal tower, semi-circular arches and carved faces lend a medieval quality. It is still one of the few unchanged Carnegie Libraries in America.
