The Ashland Ranger District is located in south-central Montana. It is the largest contiguous block of Federal ownership in eastern Montana. This District has the largest grazing program of any National Forest Ranger District in the Nation. The area is rich in coal and wildlife.

Blacks Pond Picnic Area is located on the Custer National Forest in the Custer National Forest. It is in the middle of a watchable wildlife route and the pond itself is home to several different species of wildlife. There are two campsites with a handicapped accessible toilet.

Camps Pass Ski Trail consists of two loops. There is parking available at trailhead on US Highway 212.

Length: 2 km of easiest, 2 km of more difficult and 6 km of most difficult trail; no grooming.

Cheyenne Trailriders

Cheyenne Trailriders offers you this opportunity to tour an American Indian reservation from a unique vantage point - from the back of a horse, the way our ancestors did it. Zane and Sandy Spang are members of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe and they welcome you to visit their homeland.

Community United Methodist Church offers worship on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays at 4:00pm. Fellowship follows immediately after worship. Special studies and Sunday school are offered after worship. Our pastor commutes from Hardin, the alternate worship schedule is provided.

Holiday Campground is located in Custer National Forest. There are four campsites with primitive restrooms. Water is not provided, so remember to bring your own. Maximum recommended trailer length for the area is 23 feet. Please limit your stay to 14 days. No fee is required.

Red Shale Campground is located in the Custer National Forest in southeast Montana. At an elevation of 3000 feet, it encompasses an area of 5 acres. It is a basic campground with primitive restrooms and 14 campsites. Pets are allowed. The maximum trailer length is 32 feet.

St. Labre Mission / Cheyenne Indian Museum

The architecture structure of St. Labre Indian Chapel was inspired by the teepee of the Plains Indians. The great wooden beam that runs through the ceiling skyward, rests in the 'smoke hole' opening. On either side of this great cross beam are beautiful stained glass windows.

Whitetail Cabin

Whitetail Cabin is located in Custer National Forest. It is a historical cabin that the Forest Service rents out for $30 per night. The cabin is equipped with two bunkbeds, so it sleeps four people. There is a maximum stay of four days. Horse pasture and corral available.
