Known as the 'energy capital of Montana,' Colstrip is coal-mining country. Stop at the visitor center to learn about the history of this community, the operation of a coal-fired power plant and the workings of an open-pit mine. Tours Monday through Friday, reservations appreciated.

Fort Union Inn is a small town, family owned motel. Located in southeastern Montana, 28 miles south of Interstate 94, on Highway 39, a well traveled route between Yellowstone Park and the Black Hills, and one hour drive to the Little Bighorn Battlefield.

Ponderosa Butte Golf Course

Ponderosa Butte Public Golf Course was opened in May of 1992. It is a very challenging links style course with 4 distinctly different tees on every hole. Considered a top 9-hole golf course in Montana. Picturesque setting with deer and pheasant common to see during play.

Schoolhouse History and Art Center

The Schoolhouse History & Art Center (SHAC) was originally built in 1924 as a schoolhouse for the new community of coal miners and area ranchers.

Saturday mass 5:00pm. Sunday mass 10:00am. Wednesday 7:00pm.
