The first 0.25 mile of Granite Lake Trail is steep and rocky. Trail travels through White Bark Pine Forest. Scenic views of surrounding country.

There is a stock unloading ramp 0.8 mile down the Pattengail Road past Grouse Creek at Pattengail Creek trailhead. The access road to the start of the Grouse Lakes Trail is not obvious as it appears as a two track road. A sign points the way but it occasionally gets vandalized.

High Country Connection

High Country Connection has a great area with many high mountain lakes and huge meadows to ride through. It is a roadless area so you either hike or ride horses. The trail is easy, so even the novice rider can enjoy . There is an abundance of fish to catch and game to see.

Lion Creek Trail (28) provides a beautiful walk as it begins low in the Lion Creek Canyon and makes its' way up toward clear mountain lakes in a high alpine basin.

Little Joe Campground is located in Beaverhead National Forest. It contains 5 campsites. Interior access trails are paved and camping pads are compacted gravel. Water is available from a handpump. Fire rings, trails, and fishing access are also available. Toilets are handicapped accessible.

Lodgepole Campground

Lodgepole Campground is located within the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. At an elevation of 6,400 feet, the campground encompasses 2 acres. This is a basic campground located between the road and a steep hill across the Wise River.

The first 2 miles north of Lost Horse Trail 245 is steep and rocky. Trail levels out through Lost Horse Meadow to Bible Camp Park then climbs steady to Trail 750. Half of trail is in timber other half in open meadows. Some sections are boggy. Open to motorcycles and ATVs.

Mono Creek Campground is located within the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest in southwest Montana at an elevation of 7000 feet. This small 2-acre campground is nestled in a thick timbered area. Mono Creek is located across the road.

There is a new graveled parking area with adequate parking for vehicles pulling horse trailers. The trail is maintained every year. It is closed to all motorized vehicles during the summer. Be prepared to get your feet wet as you cross bogs.

First 6 miles is a rough jeep road following the north side of Pattengail Creek. Rest of trail passes through lodgepole pine forest with a few meadows. Grades are gentle to moderate and tread is rocky in many area. Isolated trail with low use, open to motorcycles and ATVs.

At the end of Road 185 is a large graveled parking area with a stock unloading ramp, hitch rails, feed bunk, and toilet at the trailhead. The Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness Boundary is just north of the trailhead. A visitor wilderness registration box and sign is near the boundary.

Pioneer Outfitter provides guide service for a variety of adventures in southwestern Montana. Spring bear hunting in May and June. Float and wade fishing the Big Hole River and Beaverhead River, June, July, August and September.

Reservoir Creek Trail is a steep trail following Reservoir Creek to Alder Peak. Trail is mostly in timber and has numerous boggy areas at its upper end. Trail is open to motorized use but receives little traffic.

Seymour Campground is located within the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest in southwest Montana. At an elevation of 6700 feet, the campground encompasses 7 acres and contains 17 campsites. Restrooms and drinking water are available. Fishing and hiking access is conveniently located.

The trailhead is paved and has a stock ramp, hitching post, feed bunk and a toilet. This is the start of the Continental Divide Trail in the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness. The trail is signed and well marked.

Southend Pioneer Loop Trail (750) climbs steeply for the first 1.5 miles, undulated for the next 1 mile then climbs again to Lower Bobcat Lake. Trail is rocky and has some boggy areas. Trail is open to use by motorcycles.
