Otter Creek Cabin

Secluded along Otter Creek, in full view of the majestic Crazy Mountains and situated in the middle of an historic 6000+acre cattle, horse and sheep ranch, there is a comfortable hand-built log cabin with handmade pine furniture for 1-2 guests willing to share a cabin.

Overland Golf Course is one of the finest 9-hole (par 36) facilities in the state of Montana. Our lush fairways and well maintained greens offer golfers of all levels both a challenge and a treat. The nearby Crazy Mountains offer a scenic backdrop to an already beautiful layout.

Placer Basin Trail (20) starts 1 mile south of Camp on the Boulder, immediately crosses a foot bridge across the Main Boulder River, traverses to the south and switchbacks and follows Hawley Creek to Breakneck Plateau, continues across East Boulder Plateau, and finally descends to Dry Fork Trail

Prospector Pizza Plus

Prospector Pizza Plus is located in one of Montana's friendliest towns. They offer a fun dining experience for all ages in a comfortable atmosphere, Prospector Pizza specializes in homemade pizza and in-house smoked Ribs in addition to mile high sandwiches and Mexican food.

Rainbow Creek Trail (28) travels from the junction of East Fork Trail 27 to the Lake Plateau and Custer National Forest. In conjunction with East Fork Trail 27, this is the most popular trail in the Big Timber Ranger District.

Range Riders Ranch

Range Riders Ranch offers to help you experience a part of the Old West that still exist on the 4th Generation Range Riders Ranch. Homesteaded in the early 1900's, this ranch is alive with history.

Rocking Tree Ranch is a natural horsemanship school and guest ranch that offers a program designed specifically for families.

Sheep Creek Trail (127) starts 0.5 mile north of Independence and travel to Hellroaring Divide. It ascends a ridge between Sheep Creek and Copper Creek and traverses its length to the Divide, providing scenic views. It provides access to Hellroaring Creek on the Gardiner Ranger District.

The Shiloh Rifle Company has shirts, caps, and books. Accessories for the rifles we manufacture, such as sights, gun stands, dies, etc. for reloading.

We manufacture the 1874 Sharps rifle. Orders can be placed through our office.

Silver Lake Trail (149) begins at the junction with Fourmile Trail 22 and travels to Silver Lake. Steep and rocky.

Length: 3.2 miles. Wilderness area, fair condition, moderate difficulty, medium use.Trail Begins: Trail 22.Trail Ends: Silver Lake

Slough Creek-Independence Trail travels through the Independence mine area.

Length: 5.0 miles. Wilderness area, medium use, moderate difficulty

Speculator Trail (21) begins near Speculator Creek on the west side of Main Boulder Road and travel to Great Falls Creek Trail 18 in Falls Creek drainage. Poor conditions, not routinely maintained, not recommended for pack and saddle stock due to numerous deep bogs.

Spring Creek Campground & Trout Ranch

Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch is located on the beautiful Boulder River south of Big Timber not far from Yellowstone Park. Our river sites are quiet, shady and grassy.

St. Joseph's Catholic Church is located on the main street of the Big Timer Community, McLeod Street.

Mass is held on sundays at 8:30am on the first and third Sundays of each month.

Service of Word and Communion is held at 9:30am on the second, fourth and fifth Sundays.

St. Mark? Episcopal Church

St. Mark's Episcopal Church was established in Big Timber in 1895. We have Sunday Eucharist at 11:00am every Sunday. Sunday school is at 11:00am and nursery care is provided.

Visitors are welcome. Please join us as we celebrate being in the community of Christ.

Sunlight Lake Trail (273) travels from the junction with Sweet Grass Creek Trail 122 to Sunlight Divide. The trail section above Sunlight Lake to the Divide and beyond are not recommended for pack and saddle stock.

Sweet Cast Angler

Sweet Cast Angler offers a full service fly shop including Simms, Umpqua, Cortland, Lampson and Kilwel rods. Our guide service is for floating and wading on the Yellowstone, Boulder and Stillwater. We are a license agent and rent rafts, pontoon boats, rods and reels.
