Hebgen Lake is approximately 15 miles long and 2.5 miles wide. Hebgen Lake has been called the premier stillwater fishing lake in Montana.

The District Office sells a variety of forest service maps. Firewood, burning and Christmas tree permits are available seasonally. For remote cabins are available to rent to the public.

New Arctic Cat snowmobiles every year, heated handlebars on machines, rental clothing, maps of area trails and guides are available. We offer packages and group rates. We help you plan your day to enjoy the winter wonderland in Yellowstone County.

High mark Snowmobile Rental has a wide variety of Polaris snowmobiles for rent. Snowmobiles and full sets of clothing available. Rental includes one tank of fuel and oil daily at no additional cost. Rooms are available at the Lazy G Motel (two people, one bed at $43.00).

Ho Hum Motel is open all year. There are 23 units only two blocks from Yellowstone National Park's west entrance. Electric heat, color TV, HBO, queen beds, outdoor plug outlets. Snowmobile rentals.

Horse Butte Loop Snowmobile Trail is a cooperative operation with West Yellowstone Chamber of Commerce. Parking capacity unlimited in West Yellowstone. Groomers operated 7 nights a week. Schedules available in Forest service office.

Jim Danskin invites you to attend Flyfishing School on the river, with instruction on types of hatches, reading the water and other appropriate techniques. We offer personalized or group instruction.

We have two seasons here in West Yellowstone. Spring/summer are for the park visitor and then the winter season is mostly snowmobilers who can tour the park and use the hundreds of miles of groomed trails.
