Agnes Lake Trail (122) is located in the Pioneer Mountains. The trail begins on the east side of Brownes Lake at the State campground and ends 0.5 mile east of Long Branch Lake on Willow Creek Road.
Albert Point Trail (719) is another way to get on top of the Graves Range between the Clarkfork River and Lolo Creek Drainages. Trail open to motorcycles, as well as foot and horse traffic.
Alder Creek Trail (209) goes up to the Sapphire Divide. It gives you views of the roadless area in Rock Creek and the Bitterroot Valley and the mountain range on the west side.
Alexander Mountain Trail (270) offers a scenic overlook of Lake Koocanusa after 0.5 mile on the trail and is suitable for a short hike to the overlook or for a more rugged day hike. No restrooms or stock facilities are available.
Alice Creek Road Snowmobile Trail is a cooperative operation with Ponderosa Snow Warriors Snowmobile Club. Snowmobile travel restricted to designated route. There is roadside parking.
Anderson Mountain Road Ski Trail forms a junction with the Richardson Creek Trail 104 at 1.5 miles and with Cabinet Creek Trail 101 and May Creek Trail 103 at about 2.5 miles.
Ant Flat, one of the first Ranger Stations on the Kootenai Forest, was recently converted into an environmental education center. Ant Flat Nature Trail (348) leads to a viewing platform allowing visitors to see a marshland ecosystem.
Archibald Loop Snowmobile Trail begins at West Side Bypass Road 2190, Junction S, and continues on Archibald Loop Road 2192 to Junction P, Q, and R, then back to Road 2190 and Junction S. Good family trail. Heavy snowmobile traffic at times.
Arrastra Creek Trail (482) begins off Beaver Creek Road 4106 where there is ample parking with a horse ramp available. The trail starts out as a road but turns into a blazed trail about an eighth of a mile in.
Auggie Cutoff Snowmobile Trail begins at Auggie cut-across Road 436, Junction B, then continues to Rice Ridge Road 720, Junction E. This trail serves multiple uses. Watch for signs.
Baker Lake Trail (234) is relatively steep, but it is an easy and quick access to Baker Lake. Its primary use is by day hikers and hunters and it is not recommended for stock use. This trail is not well defined, but the lake can be reached with adequate map reading.
Bald Hills Trail (345) is a good trail for access to Tenderfoot Creek. The trail passes through private land. The landowner allows foot and horse traffic within the private land. Parking at the trailhead is limited. Bald Hills Trail makes a great one to two day trip.
Balsinger Trail (343) makes a very good one to two day hike. The recommended season is late spring to mid-autumn. This trail is used very little by horses or motorized vehicles. It is not a good access route to Tenderfoot Creek. The trail crosses Balsinger Creek many times.
Bannock Ski and Snowmobile Trail is groomed. It is a cooperative operation with Upper Yellowstone Snowmobile Club and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. Longer trips may be made by combining routes. Park in Cooke City.
