The Pebble Creek Trail travels through a glacial valley lined with rugged peaks rising to over 10,000 feet. The valley is mostly forest with lodgepole pine, Engleman spruce and subalpine fir. There are some extensive meadow areas in the upper Pebble Creek valley.

Piegan Pass Trail-NPS

The Piegan Pass Trail begins at Siyeh Bend parking area, three miles east of Logan Pass on the Going-to-the-Sun Highway. Trail begins on the east bank of Siyeh Creek. The trail then switches back and climbs to the trail junction at mile 1.2.

Pitamakan Pass Trail can be accessed by starting at the Two Medicine north shore trailhead. Trail follows the north side of Two Medicine Campground. The trail junctions at 3.3 miles leading to Twin falls and the south shore trail. Stay right for Dawson Pass.

Ptarmigan Trail-NPS

The hike along Ptarmigan Trail begins at a short connecting trail that climbs for several hundred yards to join the main trail. The trail then turns northwest and passes below Altyn Peak and Mount Wilbur and then rises across the valley to the south.

Quartz Lakes Loop Trail crosses Bowman Creek and ascends gradually along the shore of Bowman Lake.

Rainbow Falls can be accessed by following the shore of Kintla Lake. At. 3.6 mile, there is a junction with connecting trail to Kishenehn Ranger Station. Keep to the right for Boulder Pass trail, then at mile 6.3 you will reach Kintla Campground.

Red Eagle Trail leaves the road at (3.9 miles), turning south , then it descends to Red Eagle Creek and crosses it, and follows its north bank. At mile 5.1, junction with St. Mary Lake Trail. Stay left for Red Eagle Lake. Trail follows the Red Eagle Creek.

On Red Gap Pass Trail, hike 0.1 mile then turn left for Ptarmigan Tunnel. At 2.4 miles, the trail crosses Ptarmigan Creek at Ptarmigan Falls. Junction for Ptarmigan Tunnel trail at 2.5 miles, turn to the right for Ptarmigan Tunnel. You will reach Ptarmigan Lake at 4.1 miles.

The length of the trail is .8 miles. It is a loop trail ending and beginning at Reno Benteen Monument parking area.

Rescue Creek Trail travels from the Trailhead on the Mammoth-Tower Road to the trailhead located about 1 mile south of the North Entrance Station. From the Blacktail Trailhead, the route follows the Blacktail Creek Trail for the first 0.75 of a mile.

Rose Creek Trail leaves from the far north of the complex. There is no bridge over Rose Creek on the spur trail from the campground. Just before reaching the Otokomi Lake, the trail passes Otokomi Campground, located on the left of the trail.

Running Eagle Falls Trail-NPS

Follow the northern shore line of Lower Two Medicine Lake, then turn to the south for Running Eagle Falls Trail.

At 1.1 miles, you will come to the junction for the Ole Creek trail, stay left at this point. The trail will come to a junction with the Scalplock Lookout trail at 1.5 miles, turn right. The trail climbs rather steeply up the Scalplock Mountain.

The Siege Trail leads 1.8 mile round trip, to the area where the soldiers and volunteers were held under siege by Nez Perce warriors.

All are welcome to take a Self-Guided walk through the battlefield from sunrise to sunset, daily. Guided walks are offered during the summer months.

Sherburne Cutoff Trail is an extremely steep 1 mile cutoff trail

The Siyeh Pass Trail ascends along the west slope of Matahpi Peak. Junction with Piegan Pass Trail (1.2 miles). Turn left for Siyeh Pass. Junction with Siyeh Pass trail (2.7 miles), turn right for Siyeh Pass. The trail passes through Preston Park, then ascends to Siyeh Pass.

The Skyline Trail provides the best prolonged dose of mountain scenery in Yellowstone. As it follows the boundary ridge of the park the trail offers exciting views of mountain ranges in all directions, as well as traveling to the summit of two mountains itself.

Snyder Lake Trail follows Snyder Creek eastward. At mile 1.7, junction with Mount Brown Lookout trail, stay right for Snyder Lakes. At mile 1.8, the Snyder Lake trail turns northeast, stay to the left. At mile 4.4, you will reach Snyder Lake.

The South Boundary Trail is in good condition from West Glacier to the old Nyack Ranger Station, but between Nyack and Coal Creek, the trail disappears in the large meadow southeast of the old Nyack Ranger Station.

The South Shore Josephine Lake Trail descends to the valley floor shortly after reaching Stump Lake. The trail then enters Trail 180, connecting the south shore trail with the trail around Swiftcurrent Lake. The trail winds around Stump Lake, and then to the eastern shore of Lake Josephine.
