Tower Rock State Park

Tower Rock State Park, Montana's newest State Park is a 136-acre site along the stretch of the Missouri River between Craig and Pelican Point.

Located at a historic and contemporary crossroads, Travelers' Rest State Park is a place where visitors can say with certainty that they are walking in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark.

Ulm Pishkun State Park

The word 'Ulm' is German; 'Pishkun' is from the Blackfoot meaning 'deep blood kettle'. This archaeological site is possibly the largest bison cliff jump in North America.

Wayfarer - Flathead Lake State Park

Located near the quaint resort town of Bigfork on the northeast shore of Flathead Lake, this park is 67 acres in size and is 2,900 feet in elevation. A mature mixed forest makes this site very pleasant for camping and picnicking. From spring to late fall the area abounds in wildflowers.

West Shore - Flathead Lake State Park

West Shore is located in a mature forest overlooking Flathead Lake. The park's glacially-carved rock outcrops give spectacular views of Flathead Lake and the Mission and Swan Mountain Ranges. The shoreline is rocky, and fishing and boating are popular.

Whitefish Lake State Park

A mature woodland contributes to this pleasant, secluded campground and beach. Boating, swimming and fishing are popular activities and the lake is rarely windy so it provides ideal conditions for water-skiing. This park is 10 acres in size at an elevation of 3,004 feet.

Wild Horse Island - Flathead Lake State Park

The largest island in the largest freshwater lake (Flathead Lake) west of Minnesota. Wild Horse Island has been a landmark since the Salish-Kootenai Indians were reported to have used it to pasture horses to keep them from being stolen by other tribes.

Yellow Bay - Flathead Lake State Park

Yellow Bay is in the heart of the famous Montana sweet cherry orchards. Cherry blossoms color the hillsides during spring. In the summer, cherries can be purchased at nearby roadside stands or U-Pick orchards. The park includes Yellow Bay Creek and a wide, gravelly beach.

The Corps of Discovery passed this way on their westward trek across the continent.
