On the Pioneer Mountains Scenic Byway in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, you can travel the length of the Pioneer Mountain Range. Granite peaks topping 10,000 feet in elevation are to the east, and gentler, forested terrain stretches out to the west.

The Kootenai River parallels the route for the first 5 miles, providing a scenic foreground to the Cabinet Mountains. Whitetail deer and ruffed grouse are common along the entire length of this drive.

The Seeley-Swan scenic drive is a 90-mile long corridor along Highway 83 stretching through the Swan Valley from Seeley Lake to Swan Lake. This is lake country.

Originally a meandering trail which followed the Clark Fork River between St. Regis and Paradise, the St. Regis-Paradise National Forest Scenic Byway lies within the Lolo National Forest.

The ride through the Yaak Valley is spectacular in itself. The area abounds with wildlife and the brilliance of nature at its finest. The road follows much of the Yaak River and at one point, Yaak Falls, visitors may stop and see the Forest's most popular waterfall.
