Cemetery Island Recreation Area is located in southwest Montana on Canyon Ferry Reservoir. The island is accessible by boat only. This is a day use area offering fishing enjoyment for the angler.
Chalet Recreation Area is located in northwest Montana near Canyon Ferry Reservoir. This site if for group use only and is available all year or day use activities. Swimming and fishing are popular in the area. Handicapped accessible restroom facilities are provided.
Fish Hawk Recreation Area is located in southwest Montana at Canyon Ferry Reservoir. Day use only, 6 picnic sites and 10 fire rings. It is just south of the dam on the west side of the reservoir and is on a grassy knoll above the shore. There is no drinking water or firewood available.
Les Mason Memorial is situated on a sandy beach consisting of 585 feet of lake frontage on Whitefish Lake. It is a day use area only. Flush toilets are available.
Libby Creek Gold Panning Area is located in Kootenai National Forest. The parking area at the panning area is a small clearing adjacent to Libby Creek. No restrooms or camping facilities are available. Pets are welcome, but they must be kept on leashes.
Lorelei is located in northwest Montana on Canyon Ferry Reservoir's west shores. Fishing and swimming may be enjoyed on the lake. There is no camping at this day use area.
Mahogany Cove is located in southwest Montana on Canyon Ferry Reservoir. The cove is accessible by boat only and is located on the west shore of the reservoir. There are 3 picnic sites. Fishing may be enjoyed in the cove.
The Ruby Reservoir in southwestern MT, offers a barely developed campground with primitive toilets on Ruby Reservoir, about 12 miles west of Virginia City. The reservoir was developed to supply irrigation to ranches and is therefore subject to large fluctuations in depth.
Shannon is a BLM recreation area located on the Canyon Ferry Reservoir in southwest Montana. This is a day use only facility with a boat dock and two ramps available. Handicapped parking and toilets available. Fishing and boating may be enjoyed on the lake.
South Dickey Lake Day Use Area is located on the Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana at an elevation of 3,110 feet. This day use area is located adjacent to beautiful Dickey Lake, and only a few miles from North Dickey Lake Campground.
A mosaic of colorful sandstone bridges, spires, and buttes formed from thousands of years of wind and water action. The Calypso Trail divides the badlands into two roadless areas. The Terry scenic overlook, along the northeast boundary is served by a gravel road and there is a parking area.
White Sandy is a state recreation area on Hauser Lake north of Helena, Montana. There is a campground with tent and trailer sites and restroom facilities. Fishing, swimming and boating may be enjoyed on the lake. A boat launch or carry-in craft is provided.
Whittecar Rifle Range is located in western Montana near the community of Hamilton. This site is co-managed between the state and the Ravalli County Whittecar Rifle Range. The site provides restrooms and drinking water. A nominal fee is charged for use of the range.
