Big Mountain Gondola Ride

Ride the Glacier Chaser Gondola or an open chair-lift to the awe inspiring 7,000-foot summit of Big Mountain and a view of our outdoor playground. Across the valley below stretches the diamond glitter of Flathead Lake. The blue peaks of the Great Bear Wilderness roll away like an endless sea. And piercing the sky are the Alp-like crests of Glacier National Park, the 'crown jewels of the continent.'

On the summit of Big Mountain you'll find the Danny On Memorial Trail, a network of well-marked routes three to six miles long. Go wander through the pines and wildflower meadows. In late summer you can pick ripe huckleberries, a Montana delicacy. To learn about local flora and fauna visit the U.S. Forest Service Environmental Education Center located in the Summit House. Here you can even touch the fur of a real grizzly bear.
