Road conditions are reasonably good to the junction with the Yaak Mountain road. Check at the Ranger Station for updated road conditions and to verify the operating dates for this tower.
Yaak River Campground is located on the Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana at the confluence of the Yaak and Kootenai Rivers. This site is immediately adjacent to US Highway 2 and is located at the confluence of the Clark Fork and Yaak Rivers.
The Yaak River Lodge is a beautiful guest ranch nestled in the Purcell Mountains in northwestern Montana. We have six comfortable rooms with private baths, wall to wall carpeting and baseboard heating, a dorm that sleeps eight and a Honeymoon Suite with a jacuzzi.
This newer, four bedroom home is located on 20 acres in a sunny, hillside location right near the entrance to Gallatin Canyon. It offers pastoral mountain views of the Gallatin Valley and the Spanish Peaks from the house and deck.
Yellow Bay is in the heart of the famous Montana sweet cherry orchards. Cherry blossoms color the hillsides during spring. In the summer, cherries can be purchased at nearby roadside stands or U-Pick orchards. The park includes Yellow Bay Creek and a wide, gravelly beach.
Cost $20.00. Yellow Mule Cabin, a small one-room cabin, can accommodate two people. Not recommended for ski access (14 miles west of US 191). In summer it is an 8 mile hike to the cabin. Firewood is not provided!
