Many Glacier Hotel, built in 1914 and 1915, is the largest hotel in the park with 208 rooms. Its design was modeled after Swiss chalets and the Swiss theme is carried throughout the hotel, most notably in the main dining room, which features the flags of Switzerland's Cantons.
Located on picturesque Swiftcurrent Lake, this hotel is a favorite for its panoramic views of nearby Grinnell Point and Mt. Henkel. Both of these spots are some of the park's best locations for spotting mountain goats, big horn sheep and bears during the summer and early fall.
Your stay would not be complete without taking one of the numerous scenic interpretive red 'jammer' bus tours, taking a boat cruise or horseback riding. Guests share their celebrated stories of the present and the past while they rest in the great lobby or in the Ptarmigan Dining Room, viewing the spectacular peaks and the shimmering lake waters as the sun brings the dramatic alpine glow over the mountains. They are certainly not short of stories in the Swiss & Interlaken Lounge either, where they enjoy Montana's famous huckleberry daiquiris and microbrews. And if guests want to hear true stories of the park and of Lewis and Clark's adventures, they should be sure to attend the original and entertaining performances of David Walburn who delights audiences of all ages!
