Nearby Missouri Headwaters State Park (994-4042) preserves the historic place where Lewis and Clark discovered the confluence of the Jefferson, Madison and Gallatin rivers-headwaters of the Missouri. Campground, interpretive displays, hiking trails, fishing and floating are all found here. Fee. Southeast of town on Buffalo Jump Rd., Madison Buffalo Jump State Park (994-4042) vividly demonstrates a hunting technique used by Indians 2,000 years ago.
